A unique gold sculpture crafted by Hiroshi Suzuki is to go on display in London next year.

The Japanese artist's Aqua-Poesy XI Kin vessel was hammer-raised and chased in 22-c gold and will go on show as part of a major exhibition of the sculptor's work at the Goldsmiths' Hall.

Running from February 8th to March 6th 2010, the event will display about 80 works in total by Suzuki, as well as a short documentary about the artist, who will also give an illustrated talk about his life and work on February 16th.

The Aqua-Poesy XI Kin sculpture was shown at last year's Sculpture Objects & Functional Art Fair in New York.

One of the artist's biggest fans is the Duke of Devonshire, who has several works by Suzuki in his Chatsworth home.

The sculptor has previously exhibited his pieces at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and the Cambridge University Fitzwilliam Museum, as well as at a number of fine art institutions in France and Australia.
