Gold pendant unveiled to celebrate UAE National Day

A limited edition 18-c gold pendant has been created to celebrate United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Day on December 2nd.
Muna Al Haddad, designer of the Ghenej jewellery collection, says that the gold pendant represents the seven emirates of the UAE as one heart and is designed in the shape of the UAE map.
She said: "What inspired me to design this distinctive piece is my admiration of my home country."
UAE minister of economy, His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, attended the unveiling of the Ghenej gold jewellery collection at Harvey Nichols Dubai.
Sultan Al Mansouri said that that the ministry of economy is committed to supporting innovation in small and medium-sized business such as Ghenej.
The collection also contains pieces inscribed with Arabic calligraphy and poetry, inspired by the culture of the region.
Ms Al Haddad describes the collection as sophisticated and attractive, with yellow gold being a vital element in the designs.
