Gold jewellery worth thousands stolen from Bedfordshire home

Wednesday, 9th September 2009 (3044 views)
A collection of gold and other jewellery believed to be worth tens of thousands of pounds has been stolen from a home in Bedfordshire.

The jewellery included a 24-c gold Tiffany ring, a chunky gold and diamond ring and a gold ladies watch by Buechegirod.

It was taken from a home in the Old Hill Wood area of Studham, near the Hertfordshire border, on September 3rd.

The jewellery had been securely stored in a large silver safe that was ripped from its mountings and taken by the burglars.

"This jewellery is of great financial value and absolutely priceless to the owner, who was completely devastated to find it missing," said Detective Constable Michelle Sears, a member of the Dunstable-based Priority Crime Investigation Team.

Elsewhere, thousands of pounds worth of gold Asian jewellery was stolen from two separate homes in Redbridge on September 7th, the East London and West Essex Guardian reports.
