Prerna - Inspired by Jewellery has announced the launch of its Traditional Indian Collection, which is influenced by Indian history, Bollywood cinema and fashion.

Comprising gold bracelets, earrings, pendants and necklaces, the new range is made by artisans in India and will be available in stores during 2009.

Traditional Indian Collection has been inspired by the Mughal era and pieces can "enhance your evening look, making you the centre of attention", with each item linked to a story of its own.

The word 'prerna' means 'inspiration' in Sanskrit and the unique jewellery range is inspired by art, history, symbolic imagery, nature and abstract concepts.

Alpana Gujral has launched a new collection for the 2009 Valentine's season that includes rings and bracelets in 18 and 22-c gold, according to Diamond World magazine.

Available at her store in New Delhi, the jewellery designer has created a gold watch bracelet, a 22-c gold bracelet and an 18-c gold ring, all featuring romantic colours such as red and pink.
