Gold features in winning jewellery design

Tuesday, 3rd June 2008 (1159 views)
The winning entry in a jewellery design competition used gold to take the top prize.

Vishal Kanubhai Vaghasia from Mumbai was named the winner of the Dalumi Group competition entitled When the Source Turns into Inspiration, reports JCK India.

Judges, which included Dalumi managing director Vered Dalumi and JCK magazine editor-in-chief Hedda Schupak, considered entries that used Dalumi Group's yellow-shade diamonds to inspire a single piece of jewellery or a collection.

The winning design features yellow and white diamonds in a gold setting and will be used as the basis of a new Dalumi collection.

Mr Vaghasia, whose experience includes working as a diamond cutter and grader, finds his inspiration from various elements of nature, JCK India reports.

Israel-based Dalumi was established in 1960 and most recently expanded by opening a diamond manufacturing facility in Botswana.

It also has operations in the UK, Japan, China and France.
