New product stops gold jewellery tarnishing

Tuesday, 1st May 2007 (4096 views)
Bearing in mind the fact that gold and silver, like other metals, can tarnish, a new technology has been launched to keep jewellery in pristine condition.

Intercept Silver & Jewelry Care has come up with the Intercept Technology anti tarnish products range which are designed to keep jewellery "clean and sparkling", according to the firm.

It is specifically the corrosive gases that are prevalent in the atmosphere that have such a negative effect on gold and other forms of jewellery and so Intercept's new technology aims to combat the effects.

Marc Rothenberg from Intercept Silver & Jewelry Care, said: "Our Intercept Technology anti-tarnish strips, tabs, pouches and boxes, contain reactive materials that react with corrosive gases that contact the film and because our tabs, strips and other products are non-abrasive, many prominent jewellery manufacturers require Intercept Technology."

This new technology is also environmentally-friendly for the more green consumer and is also non-toxic and non-abrasive. Intercept Technology, has also won the German Environmental Award.
