Gold is 'perfect gift for Valentine's Day'

Valentine's Day is less than two weeks away and gold is the order of the day when it comes to showing your loved ones how much they mean to you, according to a new report.

Experts from the World Gold Council (WGC), the global advocate for the precious metal, say that there is a plethora of items made out of gold ranging from cuff links to earrings and that these demonstrate the seriousness and commitment in your relationship.

Bangles are always very popular and a top seller at this time of the year according to Moaz Barakat, the managing director of WGC operations in the Middle East.

Mr Barakat said: "A gift of gold leaves an everlasting impression in the hearts of your loved ones.

"So this Valentines Day, let the magic of gold engulf you. Allow it to transport you and your loved one to a world where there is nothing but just lots of love."

According to Slovenian legend February 14th is the day where plants and flowers begin to grow because Valentine's Day 'brings the keys of roots'.
