One million premium module units have been shipped this year by IT technology firm Corsair, prompting the company to dish out five pairs of gold-plated memory kits to five contest winners.
The contest ran during November and required Corsair customers to record in 200 words or less why they loved the company.
Over a thousand entries were received and then subsequently checked by a committee comprising Corsair management and workers, which were then filtered down until just the five winners remained.
Alongside the five winners of the gold-plated prizes, ten individuals received honourable mentions also and they were provided with a 2GB flash voyager USB drive.
"We were completely overwhelmed and amazed at the number of entries we received. It was very difficult choosing just five winners and thus we felt the need to expand the prizes to include an honourable mentions category.
"I would like to personally thank all of the contestants who sent in entries for they all showed tremendous creativity and originality to the Corsair brand," stated Andy Paul, president and CEO of Corsair.
Corsair says it has been a leader in high speed module design and manufacturing since 1994.
