Gold tops the fashion charts

Experts are tipping gold to be worth its weight in fashion this year.

The brilliant metal will apparently be the theme to every fashionista's clothing and accessory choice as they try to look their best this autumn, according to CBS reporter Kate Sullivan.

New fashions on display at New York's Scoop store included a gold miniskirt layered with gold chains and a sweater coloured in the same shade as the precious metal with additional flecks of gold incorporated into it.

Ms Sullivan warns that although gold is a vital for anyone going out and about over the coming months, it is important to use it sparingly. Even though a gold shirt dress will be a must this autumn, combining it with gold accessories "can look very no", according to the fashion reporter.

Glamour magazine's associate style editor Ashley Baker told CBS: "The thing about gold this season is that it's not as opulent and aggressive as we have seen in the past years.

"In fact, gold now looks new because we area painting it with darker colours and more women can wear it now more than ever."
