Gold pen, maharaja's ring attract viewers

A pink diamond ring which is believed to be over 200 years old and formerly owned by several Indian maharajas has been pulling in the crowds at the International Jewellery Show in Singapore throughout this month.

The £1.6 million, 8.88-carat ring, along with an 18-carat gold pen encrusted with high-quality diamonds, have been the highlights of the show so far.

Although potential buyers have been enquiring about the pink diamond ring, the current owners, ELLA Magnificent Diamonds are keen to see it sold to the "right buyer" and apparently are in no rush to sell it to "just anyone".

The gold pen is a limited edition item crafted by luxury designer Dubois Vutera, a popular make among lavish celebrities such as Sir Elton John, and it is valued at around £20,000.

In total, around £67 million worth of jewellery is on display at the exhibition, which features approximately 140 exhibitors from over 20 different nations around the world.
