A leading Indian jeweller is to open up its new showroom on Thursday May 18th, displaying the latest collections of gold, platinum and diamond jewellery from both India and abroad.

It will be the 11th outlet for Malabar Gold, which already has showrooms in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Calicut, Tirur, Kannur, Thalassery, Kasargod, Palakkad, Manjeri and Thrissur.

Jewellers ranging from traditional to trendy, from well-known brand names such as Rado, Omega, Tissot and Longines, will be on display in the new showroom at the Fortune Building at Falnir road. It will be opened by the company's brand ambassador, Indian film actor Mohanlal.

Malabar Gold hopes to have at least 18 branches by the end of 2006, with Trivandrum, Ernakulam, Kodungallur, Badagara, Perinthalmanna, Sultan Battery and Kanhangad named as potential sites.
