Mother's Day jewellery

Wednesday, 26th April 2006 (4561 views)
US goldsmiths are flocking to produce personalised jewellery in the run-up to Mother's Day.

Dian Malouf Jewelry, known for its gold and silver creations, has introduced a line of custom-made rings which can be engraved with personal labels including "Mama," "Mimi," "Madre" or "Mom."

Designer Lori Lewis, not wanting to be left out of the market opportunity created by Mother's Day, plans on revealing her Family Tree Charm necklaces in a boutique show in southern California.

"Mother’s Day is just around the corner, so I'm excited to offer my customers a very special gift option that will be both incredibly meaningful to the recipient and easy for the person giving the gift," Ms Lewis explained.

"A trunk show at Boku Mangos boutique to benefit breast cancer research is a wonderful way to kick off this new addition to my lines of jewels."

One fifth of the sales from Ms Lewis' jewellery at the show will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Some jewellery companies, like Collectibles Today, are taking the Mother's Day spending spree to its next logical conclusion – arguing that "every mother is someone's daughter", they have released a range of products targeted at mothers who wish to give their daughters presents.

Mother's Day in the US this year falls on Sunday May 14th.
