World's top designers opt for gold this summer

Gold jewellery and accessories are the look for the summer, as many of the world's top designers incorporate the precious metal into their seasonal collections.

Nicole Kidman gave the gold look her seal of approval at the premiere of the new film Bewitched in New York earlier this month, teaming a stunning, heavy gold necklace with a white, ruched peasant dress and strappy gold sandals.

Gold accessories are also the choice du jour in the new collections by Pheobe Philo for Chloe. The Paddington bag, described as this summer's 'it' bag, features gold studs and a chunky gold padlock, and the jewellery range includes gold charm bracelets and necklaces.

Jewellery from Bottega Veneta also comprises gold bangles and earrings, decorated with the label's signature intrecciato plaiting, the Telegraph reports.

Versace has also maintained its long-term love affair with gold, including white wedge shoes with gold Medusa heads and weekend bags with gold leather straps in its summer collections.
