Tuesday, 19th April 2005 (8407 views)
To celebrate the 2005 NBA Playoffs, a host of National Basketball Association (NBA) legends are to set off on a special US tour.

As part of the tour legends including Julius "Dr. J" Erving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, Clyde Drexler, Walt "Clyde" Frazier, Robert Parish, Moses Malone, Earl Monroe, Dave Cowens, and George Gervin will stop at the Tiffany store in New York.

At the luxury jewellery store the legends will pick up the 2005 Larry O'Brien NBA Championships trophy, hand made in sterling silver with a 24-carat gold overlay.

The 16lb trophy is two feet tall and features a gold regulation size basketball.

Once the trophy has been displayed, the parade will finish at the NBA store where key figures will participate in a round table discussion about this year's playoffs.

A host of championship rings will also form a unique collection on display with selections from Shaquille O'Neal, David Robinson, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.

Tiffany has made the NBA's well-known and prestigious trophy every year since 1978.track
