Damiani, founded in 1924, is one of Italy’s leading jewellers, celebrated worldwide for its glamorous, dynamic, cutting-edge designs, and for its innovative marketing and communications strategies. The company is owned and run by the Damiani family, Gabriella, and her three children, Silvia, Guido and Giorgio. Today, talking about the growth of jewellery brands in the luxury world, Giorgio Damiani is proud that Damiani was a pioneer in the branding of jewellery, building a strong brand identity some 35 years ago.

“The jewellery industry is essentially traditional, and in the mind of the consumer, jewellery is still very traditional. Damiani’s signature style is a blend of classic and new. Our jewellery has to be comfortable, wearable, and it has to be a part of lifeâ€. Gold, he acknowledges, is part of that tradition, and an important element of the Damiani style. “Gold is prestigious, and speaks a universal language. Our D-side collection, designed with Brad Pitt, focuses on gold, and for 2005, Damiani is planning a new line in which gold is predominant.â€

“In my opinion, gold is yellow gold. After ten years of fashionable white gold, yellow gold is coming back, and will play a big role in the next five or six years. Our new, unique gold collection will be mostly in yellow gold, with some pink. There is a global need for the warmth of gold, in these uncertain times.†One thing is certain however, that Damiani will continue to grow, opening retail stores around the world, Paris, New York and London. “Our heart is in Valenza, but our dream is to become an international luxury jewellery brandâ€.
