New York designer-goldsmith, Ariane Zurcher, explores the deliquessence of gold to create contemporary free-form jewels designed, she explains, to be an extension of the body, like a second skin. With a fine arts and fashion background, she has drawn on her parents’ love of primitive art and objects for her distinctive brushed gold collections, Juno, Dauphine and Samadhi. Juno summons the inner goddess through webs of molten gold, Dauphine conjures up the romance and richness of Versailles or Venice and Samadhi looks to the Far East, bringing a meditative quality to cascades of golden petals.
