“Modern romance is at the heart of my work. I have been making jewellery for 25 years and I think of my style as elegant, refined, contemporary with an edge that comes from my connection to fashion. I bring an element of traditional design, from my training in the industry, together with fashion and modern lifestyle. Craftsmanship, which is key, makes the pieces beautiful, tactile.

“I fuse inspirations from different styles and cultures, often total opposites, like tribal and Art Deco, with elements of Victorian sentiment, and this creates a certain modernism I think. When I was first given a platform with McQueen, I felt let loose, free to push boundaries and this was where I found my style, and first created my signature tusk motif. The simple lines, proportions, the provocative touch of darkness have followed through in my work, seen at best in my iconic Hook My Heart motif, playing with the concept of love

“Gold is my main material. I love its weight, warmth, contrasts and colours, white, yellow, rose, green. Yellow gold is at its height in fashion today, but rose gold is my favourite at the moment. Gold allows me to apply traditional techniques, engraving or enamel. 18 carat gold enables me to create the sweeping, sculptural contours and voids and high mirror polish of my Luna collection, inspired by the moon. As I’ve evolved, so has my work and my use of gold has become more sophisticated. My deepest wish is for my jewellery to be a part of history. “
