VAN CLEEF & ARPELS
The link with Paris couture, with fabrics and fluidity, folds, drapes and lace, and the celebrated zip motif, have always been part of Van Cleef & Arpel’s distinctive goldwork. Now, dipping back into the 70s, famed for its own golden, jet-set glamour, Van Cleef & Arpels has recreated the wide, barbaric, Etruscan-inspired, hammered molten-gold cuff bangle, worn by Jackie Onassis. She bought the bangle, at the time one of a limited edition of 100, in 1976, from the New York store, and liked it so much she returned for another, wearing them often, together as a pair, with her inimitable style and panache.
