21. STYLE LETTER ITALY – MILAN HOT STYLE GUIDE
This latest edition of the Milan Hot Style Guide takes the heat out of pounding the Milan streets this summer with its selection of three individual jewellers who share their dreams and inspirations.
PAGE ONE:
Exploring seduction
“Embellishing the body with sparkling beams of light is my main objective”, states Milan-based stylist Francesca Corradini, who creates appealing jewellery pieces characterized by a variety of textures. “And that’s the reason why my production includes a bit of everything, from rings to ankle bracelets to cufflinks, necklaces, earrings and head-ornaments.” Balance and softness show their potential in this unique gold collection and add flair to designs that range from abstract free-flowing carvings to geometric-inspired shapes.
PAGE TWO:
Manufacturing tradition
“We both had a long-held fascination with gold,” so states Claudia and Mirta, who, led by a great friendship, decided to join forces to create the brand Galante Visconti. “We love it bright red, green, champagne beige and with a sensual brushed and satin finish that accentuates the colour palette. We prefer it hand-crafted, in the tradition of the old goldsmiths’. Our designs are a combination of the old and the new, traditional and fashionable, period and contemporary, sacred and whimsical.” The collection has a timeless quality. The look is chic and thoroughly nature-loving.
PAGE THREE:
Emphasizing elegance
“I have a consuming passion for easy-to-wear, contemporary pieces,” says Manuela Gandini, better known as Manuganda, who dedicated most of her time developing new techniques in jewellery-making. “My collection is a mix and match of sculpted, sleek, polished forms, hand-made fashion-forward pieces in the Italian style”. Geometric shapes in yellow, pink and white gold often taking on symbolic and sentimental meanings. A new breed of classics made contemporary. Macro-sized rings, bracelets and necklaces fuelled by innovative styling.
