HERMES
The origins of the Hermes jewel can be traced back to the company’s beginnings, in 1837, as a saddle and harness maker, crafting metal for use with leather. Their first jewel, created in 1927, the Filet de Selle, a leather and silver bracelet, bred a whole Hermes jewellery department, which launched its first gold jewel, a version of the famous anchor-link chain, in 1955. Today Hermes jewels continue to flourish, now under the direction of Pierre Hardy, who has modernised the brand’s iconic themes, through motifs like a rocking horse, and a gold chain fringed sautoir, both new this spring.
