Artist-goldsmiths Gary Wright and Sheila Teague met at London's Central St Martin's College of Art and Design, and having collaborated on film and television projects, they decided to join forces and set up their own label in 1984. Their flagship store, with workshop, is in Mayfair, London.
"We describe our style as Glamour with Gravitas. We are primarily concerned with the relationship of jewellery with the body, and with the important role enjoyed by jewellery in all societies, tribal, ancient and modern, the connection of jewellery to ritual and heritage."

"We take historical work as a point of reference, but are also inspired by poems and places, by our interests such as typography, but most of all by the metal itself, which for us is so much more than just a carrier for gemstones."

"Messages are important in our work, often transferred from inside a jewel, as in the medieval posy ring, to the outside, and we continue traditions of engraving that are central to jewellery."

"Our jewellery is hand-made, by us, in our own studio and unusually we both work on every aspect of every piece. The design process is shared; Gary usually makes the prototype himself, and as the storyline or theme develops we explore different techniques."
