"We describe our style as Glamour with Gravitas. We are primarily concerned with the relationship of jewellery with the body, and with the important role enjoyed by jewellery in all societies, tribal, ancient and modern, the connection of jewellery to ritual and heritage."

"We take historical work as a point of reference, but are also inspired by poems and places, by our interests such as typography, but most of all by the metal itself, which for us is so much more than just a carrier for gemstones."

"We aim to make jewels that are clean and clear, with a distinct personality, that evoke a response and have meaning for us and hopefully for others; the client adds their story to ours."

"Messages are important in our work, often transferred from inside a jewel, as in the medieval posy ring, to the outside, and we continue traditions of engraving that are central to jewellery."

"Our jewellery is hand-made, by us, in our own studio and unusually we both work on every aspect of every piece. The design process is shared; Gary usually makes the prototype himself, and as the storyline or theme develops we explore different techniques."

"Gold is absolutely central to our work; we love its warmth and colour, the way in which it can be reworked endlessly and forever. Gold has a great ability to interpret our ideas, and while we enjoy mastering ancient techniques, our jewels are resolutely contemporary."

"Our gold is never shiny, but matt, textured, with an excavated quality, which references both our inspirations and gold's origin as an ore hidden in the earth for millennia. For us, as for our clients, gold represents warmth, safety and continuity; the material to mark significant moments in life."
